I don't think Plame's involvement was widly known, but that it was known by those who did not have a secret clearance. Which IMO is enough to say that Libby did not blow her cover.

If Andrea Mitchell, a well known reporter, knew about Plame, doesn't that make Fitz's declaration that nobody knew about Plame a pile of rubbish?

Andrea Mitchell seems to be supporting Libby's version that the press already knew about it.

Why would Mitchell lie?
