Dunno. I think the bet is that for Libby to get a deal from Fitzgerald, he'd have to offer up something good in return...like Cheney.

Scooter is 55 years old, NSA to Cheney, Chief of Staff to Cheney and Special Advisor to Dumbya. He is going to:

1. Say that Russert, Miller and whoever else is LYING while he's the sole person telling the truth.

2. Say that he's such an important person that he can't possibly remember the little details of conversations he had with people all those many years ago.

3. Say that he's just forgetful in his old age.

I think it would be hysterically funny if Scooter went tooth and nail after corporate media calling reporters and commentators outright liars. It would also be funny if he turned on death's head Cheney and then served up Cheney to Congressional Hearings -- no love there.

It would also be funny if, after Brownie and Miers, Scooter pleaded personal stupidity and forgetfulness in yet another administration staffer.

I'm trying to see where there's a downside to the Scooter situation for the opposition. I'm sure there's one being spun for the Wednesday conclave at Grover's house but I haven't seen it yet.

:)
