Did you know it's an evolved response to danger which keeps people alive to go on and produce the next generation? It's built right into your DNA. Without it, you'd be run over by the first bus which came along. Which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. We need a good quality gene pool. Check Darwin Awards for examples of people with inadequate fear DNA. Stupid government megalomaniacs always want to 'avoid fear and panic' as it makes their cushy lives uncomfortable.
