I hope somewhere on the agenda is an action item that reads "Teach president to speak - English, if possible, but coherently, in some language, any language".

Scratch that hope. I believe his handlers knew from day one that wasn't going to happen. They took a two pronged approach.

1> He says what he means and he means what he says. He doesn't use diplomatese. Proper English being diplomatese; incoherent English being what the common GOP base speaks.

2> Take advantage of his speech patterns. How can you possibly accuse the President of saying something specific and flip-flopping, when you can't understand what he says?
