Neither have I. We have far too many sound byte voters here in California.
I have here in front of me the Firefighters union news paper in glossy paper no less. From one end to the other it's nothing political hyperbole catch phrases and authorless quotes.
They are rabid to keep their public guaranties benefits regardless that they have to back an entirely new tax category. That being the proposed City and County Income Tax authored by Senator Mark Leno of SF. bizjournals.com
A city that agreed to pay it's fire and police a ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of existing pay retirement package. An amount that actually pays them more retired than working. For that matter the NINETY percent guarantee PERS most fire and police enjoy now pays more retired than working. That additional ten percent SF gave their employees was just more gravy.
If your wondering Calif PERS fire and police can retire after twenty years at sixty percent. Every year after twenty it's three percent more till the max at ninety percent and thirty years. Very very few opt to stay after thirty years.
Also any heart or lung problem a fire person has is considered job related even hyper tension. My fire captain buddy told me that a study was done that showed that smoke form the engines of the fire trucks causes more damage than actual fires. No shit.
