Hi John & Sr K , thanks.

Dell has made some improvements to their website - I like this adv (on Yahoo's home page) yahoo.com

$299 Dell Home desktop Offer ends 11/30. Click for details.

Dimension 3000 $299

www1.us.dell.com

I especially like this part of the adv where the notebooks are classified in clear categories:

Get the Perfect PC for You: And Get Instant Savings:

Light Weight, Widescreen Traveler
InspironTM 700m notebooks $350 Off Instantly

But they forgot to activate the hyperlink, so when I clicked on Light Weight, no luck!

Thanks for the headsup on Dell's X1 - but where is the X1 on their website?

I clicked on notebooks (on the adv page's top LHS) but it took me to this: www1.us.dell.com

Wish they would activate their hyperlink to "Light Weight" notebooks, so one doesn't have to sift through all that.

They've got to make the shopping experience quick and easy - as easy as Walmart tossing notebooks on people - a person should be able to click "Light Weight" and find it.

Btw, the Thinkpad keyboard is too big for my fingers. Sony actually would be better for me for size. Too bad they can't sell notebooks according to gender - "For Her" notebooks, "For Him" notebooks so one gets the right size one needs. OTOH imagine if you're a female with large fingers so have to click on "For Him" notebook --- that wouldn't be cool. Maybe they could have a "Small Light Weight Notebook" or a "Large Light Weight Notebook.

I heard Intel doesn't let employees buy small laptops - I thought that was really strange - why should women be forced to lug around a large notebook?

Dell has good newspaper flyer advertisements in the midwest, I noticed. My sister's company used only Dell.
