It's interesting that Bush wanted the Alito hearings before Xmas since he expected O'Connor to be gone before now anyway. It's also interesting that the right is trying to paint him as 'not an extremist' lol.

At any rate, the rightwing is obviously a minority in this country and, as such, shouldn't dominate the entire Federal Government. If Alito comes across as conservative but not crazy, then neither side will be able to pick the fight they want.

Reid and Durbin are doing a good job being really angry about the PACK OF LIES for Iraq. That's a good issue since, no matter what the current situation there, there are still the prewar lies and the incredible corruption.
