Liberals? In Texas? Surely you jest...

I suppose it is possible that the bug was planted, he came in his office, and his sharp senses detected the radio waves coming from the device so he could find it quickly. Then, despite being totally unfamiliar with the device, he knew how to shut it off and had the presence of mind to do so. Now true, that is an assumption about being unfamiliar with the device. Mayne he did have an in depth knowledge of bugging devices, but that should raise a few questions in and of itself...
