"The violence has isolated the country's tough-talking, anticrime interior minister, Nicolas Sarkozy, whom some people blame for having worsened the situation with his blunt statements about "cleaning out" the "thugs" from those neighborhoods."

Very, very stupid comment by a French official...some are saying the actual word he used was "scum". Not one American official would be stupid enough to make such a statement in a similar sitution. These comments guaranteed at least two more nites of rioting. The French have a serious problem on their hands and they have no idea how to stop it. Plus, its spreading to other French cities..........Marseilles and Dijon.

How's the Turkish arrondissement in Berlin doing?

Re: There is not one mention of race. You are reading between the lines and I am not sure that's appropriate. To me, it sounds like greed and money were the motivating factors, not race.

If the Flactifs had been a successful, happy, JEWISH family then EVERYBODY --not just me-- would be "reading between the lines" as you put it.... I can even see the whole hoopla the gruesome, cold-blooded murder of the "Jewish Flactif family" would have caused: all the French media, all the Jew-run NGOs (MRAX, LICRA,...) would have urged prominent politicians, mayors, ministers, bishops, imams, rabbis,... up to President Jacques Chirac himself to lead a mass demonstration along the Champs Elysées to condemn such a horrendous, barbarous display of anti-Semitism!

So then, you are saying Europeans [the French] only respect certain cultures and religions, and not others?
