France, as a Nation, was perceived as being weak, and rightfully so. They are now paying for their lack of a backbone The French state looks pathetically weak right now. They don't seem to have even instituted a curfew. What's next? Surrender? Derek

The WOT was originally projected to last 25-30 years. After 4 years of it, that looks like a very light estimate now. I am not quite so grim, if only because Islamism's successes are even worse for the movement than its failures. Look at Iran. The government is nuts, but 95% of the people hate it. Communism and Nazism started their rules with an economic boom and plausible proclamations of greater future success. True, it was basically a Ponzi scheme, but it worked for a while. Islamism imposes poverty and puritanism right away, by design. And that's not to mention the number of Muslims that the Islamists are alienating by the wanton slaughter of other Muslims.
