Only heard of Y10 on the news for successful test flied to Tibet in early 80's. Then, I could't find any news about Y10. Only Y7(copy An24?) and Y12 were in small production. Maybe the leadership concern its safety and reliability. But overall, it was a mistake to stop the volume production. People were misleaded by the deal of bringing in and assembling MD-82(DC-10-80). After initial scores of successful production in Shanghai, this project was stopped after MD mergered with Boeing. The airplanes were mostly used in China only. I wll not be surprised to learn that the factory site is now used for the damn real estate development. Shen Tu's name was dismissed from CAAC. The CIA accusation is new to me. >Gang of Four has done some bad things during the Cultural revolution, but their support of Yun 10 has been in the major national interest of China, so yes, they also did something good! You bid. One good thing was called open door education. When I was in elementary school, We did not just learn from the text book. . We visited the factories. We invited the manufacturer showing us how the machines were developed. One day, we have no lesson but listen to the record of the story of Paris Commune uprising in 1871 for the whole day.
