It's even crazier in the markets with most new construction like Atlanta. I was just there and just amazed at all the McMansions being built way out in all directions. Of course the prices per foot are probably a third of what folks in California are paying but the gas and winter heating bills should at the very least dampen spending patterns significantly for all these new proud homeowners.
