The White House Criminal Conspiracy

thenation.com

<<...Legally, there are no significant differences between the investor fraud perpetrated by Enron CEO Ken Lay and the prewar intelligence fraud perpetrated by George W. Bush. Both involved persons in authority who used half-truths and recklessly false statements to manipulate people who trusted them. There is, however, a practical difference: The presidential fraud is wider in scope and far graver in its consequences than the Enron fraud. Yet thus far the public seems paralyzed...>>

Bush’s Approval Ratings Will Not Recover – There Will Be No Comback

huffingtonpost.com

<<...Bush isn’t going to make a comeback. He’s fallen and he can’t get up.

A comeback presupposes substance and ability. A worthy character who has suffered some setbacks, bad luck or simple human mistakes can make a comeback because he has it in him. Tom Brady of the New England Patriots, Michael Jordan, the Boston Red Sox can mount comebacks. The Arizona Cardinals are not making a comeback this season. They don’t have the team and the ability to straighten out what has gone wrong. They will continue to lose until the end of the season.

George Bush is the Arizona Cardinals. His team is terrible and he refuses to change any of his players. He doesn’t have the personality suited for making necessary changes. Quickly adjusting to changing circumstances is not his forte, stubbornness is. Even if he had the inclination to make a change, he doesn’t have the ability. He simply doesn’t know what the hell he is doing...>>

Power Only Understands Power

By Kathleen Reardon*

huffingtonpost.com

<<...Smart politics is power politics when power is all they understand. It’s about going out on a strong limb -- one the other side overlooked or underestimated, not one they unequivocally own. It's not about fumbling around on feeble branches of peripheral issues. Stick to the larger branches and DELEGATE the smaller ones. Let the bloggers take on some. Kerry was exhausted at the end of the campaign because he said something about too many things and said too little about what mattered. He didn’t fight the ugliness, even by delegation; he just hoped it would go away. He believed then and still does that people have the cognitive capacity to take in and analyze lots of information. We’re limited, so hit the big issues, stay away from the pedestals and start fighting fire with fire...>>
