These rightwing hawks love torture, are you kidding? And they also usually lie about it and pretend it never happened. Like in Vietnbam, they denied the whole Phoenix Program existed. Those lying Smearvet buggers actually denied they'd seen any atrocities in Vietnam. Come on, man, the way we fought that war was very much over the line. We would burn down or firebomb any village even suspected of being VC friendly. And Phoenix assassinated thousands, including by beheading which was a rightwing CIA favorite, since a headless corpse can't get to Nirvana according to Buddhists. The Cheney-Rumsfield types see torture as a record to the good old days when the CIA could do anything it wanted, back to the Phnoenix era, including assassinations, atrocities, torture, overthrowing countries using subterfuge, training death squads, planting phony news stories, manipulating the media domestically and aboard, and so forth. Of course we want the CIA to do some of this, but not in support of a far rightwing political agenda, only for the good of the American people and our country as a whole.
