Yeah, that was a better way of putting it. I had thought of using the French or the UN, but chose gays & fundamentalists since our views of what is good for Iraq vs their view of us has a heavy religious component. If your religion says you can never treat women or gays as full members of society (or any other group for that matter) no external group is likely to accomplish the change. Most (all?) of the war cheerleaders don't seem to understand this aspect.
