The report was requested in May by Democratic Reps. David R. Obey of Wisconsin and John D. Dingell of Michigan, who were concerned about Mr. Tomlinson's leadership after learning he had paid a consultant to monitor the PBS show "Now With Bill Moyers" for possible liberal bias without telling the board.

Does this not tell you anything? Forget for a moment that you see a liberal bias in places I see none. Do you really want consultants trying to determine whether organizations have a liberal or conservative enough bias? I know I don't for two reasons: it sounds like censorship and its a waste of time.

And didn't Mr. Tomlinson have any responsibility for telling his board before making such a provocative move?

When you read the conservative press, you need to read between the lines to see a clearer picture.
