Anyone who helped end the Vietnam War is a real hero. By the time period you are talking about the Vietnam War was an out of control monster devouring our troops and treasure and giving us nothing back in return. The whole war by then had been exposed as pointless, unwinnable and based on a pack of lies. The majority of Americans, and almost all thoughtful Americans, wanted it over and do did the majority of troops. Obviously the POW's also wanted it over. The smears on the right trying to justify the Vietnam War and demonize those who protested it is one of the great disgraces in our public debate. Indeed, after 1968 that war was lost no matter what we did just because of the nature of it. And as we now know, Vietnam posed no threat to the USA whatsoever. Even as a communist nation it has been completely harmless toward us. Interesting the company that made the most money off the Vietnasm War was Brown + Root, not part of Halliburton. Follow the money. And remember war is big business.
