I beg your pardon?! Taro hasn't "explained" anything --he merely commented on the real-estate attractiveness --or the lack thereof-- of Mechelen and, since I'm no real-estate developer myself, I graciously concede... Just a little niggle though: Ryanair is based at Charleroi, not Brussels.


Taro's comments implied that immigrants were moving into Mechelen. Is that incorrect? If so, I apologize.

Gus,

for us accustomed to travel greater distances, Charleroi like Mechelen are close enough to be de facto within the vicinity of Bruxelles.

The fact prevails, that where the (non white) immigrants move in the original national population moves out. That goes for Belgium as well.
