That discarding of families is something we need to change too- given the nasty statistics we have on children growing up fatherless.

Oh, it's certainly stylish to have a homemaker wife as a status symbol, after you've already had the first (and maybe second) wife working to get you to the point in life where you can afford one.

Good point. Maybe supporting the dumping of the older wives for the young homemaker is the way to socially engineer this problem. <gg>
