They're doing now what they should have done 2 days into the riots, call a curfew. One thing bothers me about the liberals angle on all this rioting. That being more or less that the bitching about conditions and discrimination done by ghetto residents to the French Gov't was falling on deaf ears. Somehow I find it hard to believe being all that mideast ass that the French Gov't has been kissing for so long. In a nut shell I'm curious about how hard the ghetto residents tried to change things before all this rioting started.

Now the French are in a really nasty situation because they're on the virge of setting up a nasty and possibly repeatable cause and effect. Want to change things and get what you want without doing all that work? No prob, just have a coordinated riot for a few weeks burn and damage other peoples property set fire to a few innocent bystanders and we'll have the Gov't kissing our asses again in no time flat!

Peter, Where are they going to retreat to? The rioters seem to be targeting the entire nation. The French, more or less, brought this down on their own heads, but I fear for the innocents that will suffer.
