To start up a real argument here, I think George Bush is a decisive character right out of the McMurtry mold. That's one of the reasons why I like him.

LOL. Maybe that explains why I'm turned off by them.

[I loved westerns when I was a kid. Then they stopped making them for a couple of decades. When they came back, I found myself turned off by them. I was aware of my reaction but I have no explanation. Lonesome Dove had a lot of buzz when it came out and I liked the cast so I gave it a try but just couldn't get into it.]

Bush reminds me of my favorite "black hat" western character... the relentless, methodical cowboy robot played by Yul Brynner in the 70s sci-fi movie "Westworld". ;>)
