Come Kelp, you are stretching.

<<... will not trade ... unless GOLD goes across borders?>>

... I don't remember saying anything of the sort. I do remember saying surplus countries gain gold, and deficit states lose them.

I also remember seeing something about Sino-Russian trade will veer away from USD as sole unit of exchange, and distinctly remember Russians upping their central bank gold, and Chinese upping gold held by general population. I didn't actually think an explanation was necessary for the obvious.

<<The chinese just got busted stealing STATE SECRETS from the USA>>

... an aside, on that, as the secrets were supposedly on CD-ROMS, I suspect the goods already got broadbanded away, and if so, look for more Internet regulation/monitoring on your end, and I suppose, at the extreme, the same know-how and schema will be useful to tax Internet commerce based on your beloved electronic blibs moolah.

<<I agree with Warren - The dollar is set to devalue>>

... but Warren just back petalled, as in reversed course, and getting into USD ... so all very confusing at the mo.

<<if you and coconut need some water and thirsting to death>>

... not likely, as we figure on being at the Peninsula Hotel, enjoying afternoon tea with all the little scones and sandwiches to wash down.

<<It makes no sense>>

... not everything has to make sense, especially when the plane is about to crash and there are not enough parachutes, or perhaps more accurately, the storm at the surface is still heavy, and there are only so many spare tanks of air for the scuba divers below, separating into two groups, (a) the group that knows where the spare tanks are and can get to them, and the group that will drown.

<<Gold would take us back to the dark ages>>

... Yeeeess, and it will be dramatic, as before,m each and every time, and time and again. Do you not see the apparent pattern and the obvious cycle?

<<societies ... flowing capital ... trade ... gold ...>>

... yada yada, and so why is gold rising in price, as in stopped falling in value?

Chugs, J

P.S. I am in a chocolate making state. Nearly lunch time. Looking forward to more fresh mussels and fine beer. I will bet you the establishment will gladly take gold cash, but will settle for paper moolah. Since I always carry a few bullion on me (meant to be rubbed whenever I need to deal with unreasonable but paying counter-parties, so as to temper my comebacks), I will test out by asking.

<Gold won't make your computer fire up >

Actually you cant make a computer without gold. Know anything about semiconductors or electrical interconnects?

The anti gold drive in the US has succeeded in brainwashing the public to believe there is no useful value for gold other than jewelery.

coupled with the current trend to suppress all scientific development in the US, we will be working in the mines eventually

or we can always sell real estate
