Fischer's isn't what I'd call near. It's on Backlick near Springfield Mall, and I am near Fairfax City. But I do tend to spend a lot of time in hardware stores. Our house was built in 1979 and they hadn't upgraded anything when we bought it in 1999, so there's always something to do.

Fischer's is the kind of place where you can buy just one screw or nut or washer, not a blister pack, and get a replacement carafe for your coffeemaker, and carries between ten and twenty different brands of metal polish, and your favorite dish scrubber that nobody else has anymore.
