MMM - been watching and playing this stock for over 8 years now, and it ain't an easy one. On the really long term chart it is in a powerful advance. I'm looking right now at 18 years of history, and the conundrum of the past 18 months is no more than a hickup in the big picture.

I recall discussing with Shack the "A" into August 2004, followed by an ABC (the C being a wedge) up to the March 2005 top. I think the decline since then was yet another ABC, with the recent low being the end of a wedge.

Altogether, the decline since 2004 was (most likely) corrective, and the implications from this chart would be bullish.

As usual with MMM, the problem is -- in timing. The stock gets where it goes, but it does it at its own pace. You never know when it may decide to kill a few months on a few extra wiggles.

As for the short term, I see on the hourly a beautiful impulse off the lows, followed by what so far is a high level consolidation. May decide to pull back deeper - in which case maybe I'd try for a long trade.

Not sure this is of help, but.....

I echo everything ski said, and I think it corrects more.

Hopefully.

<<...anyone... what do ya think MMM is doing?>>......

MMM just fighting R, of which, unfortunately, it has a pile ahead.....including some 4 months of congestion in the 75-78 area, and.....as I believe I have deftly noted before.... a 200dMA trend still falling..... falling....

Still think she'll eventually move up......(and shake those nasty symptoms of H&Stopitis)......But patience.......and fortitude.....gg
