All hat, no cattle.

annual gay rights parade. Cowboy attire is always a staple.

I have seen no Oscar caliber movies lately. My preference is biased, I'm afraid.

I read the book "Memoirs of a Geisha," and had vivid memories of it when I saw the movie of the same name.

My main emotion was anger and wonder that a culture could permit selling girl children into bondage like that, and in spite of their excellent and very real skills and charms, bind them to rich benefactors that they may or may not want, for the rest of their lives.

I thought the movie did justice to the book, which was excellent. I watched the special features DVD which accompanied the main DVD.

Director Rob Marshall made no secret of his life partnership with the dance director. I don't know why that was important for us to know, but he apparently thought he should make it clear.

Anyway, I thought it was a fine movie. I probably will not add it to my video collection, mainly because my preferences are for western drama and adventure.
