I saw nothing in those PROPOSALS that would lead me to believe that the tax return would be any simpler except that even more people would be pushed into the standard deduction over itemizing. Personally, unless the Govt is willing to dump the entire code and start over with a Flat tax or something similar I would just as soon leave things as they are. The ONLY thing that OUGHT to be addressed in the current tax code is that ALT. Minimum Tax which was NEVER designed to trap ordinary people but only the WEALTHY whowere evading taxes. jdn

That would be nice.

I doubt the tax code and forms will ever be as simples as I would want them to be.
