how about gas guzzle boats, what about off the road recreation veh.

i remember paying the lux tax on the bmw but somehow you could buy a large boat, huge horse power and no lux tax?

shouldn't we be putting big tax on motor homes, corp jets, how about a tax on anyone person in a car .. unless in car pool you pay additional tax. we could color gas for those in car pools and those not in car pools(two tier pricing). something like farmers who didn't pay taxes on gasoline years ago but the gasoline was colored in case troopers found it in their car.

China's new policy to focus on fuel efficiency

China will soon release a new policy encouraging development of fuel-efficient, compact cars, in a shift of strategy for a market that until recently was dominated by gas-guzzling sedans, state media reported this week.

Liu Zhijie, with the National Development Reform Commission, China's top planning agency, told an energy conference in Beijing the new policy would clarify rules on emissions and small engines, Xinhua News Agency reported.

His comments followed reports China is planning to raise taxes on large-engine vehicles.
