The British were not infected with religious fanaticism.

Given the number of missionaries that followed British colonization, I would suggest you may be incorrect.

They just weren't MILITANT Religious fanatics.

And how are the Zionists any different from the Palestinian Liberation Organization?

Both fanatically believed in the creation of their individual homelands, except that the Jews have a historical language, culture, and religion that they sought to resurrect in Israel.

Israel can claim a historical presence as a nation/state. When was there ever a Palestinian Kingdom, or state of its own? Never.. to my recollection.. At least not since Philistine (Greek for Palestine)..

But in sum.. non-violent MASSIVE demonstrations would have captured the world news and forced Israel into a distinctly more uncomfortable position as UNDENIABLY being an "oppressor" of the local non-Jewish population...

As for welfare to Israel.. how much foreign aid do we deliver to Egypt?

That's the price of peace from the Camp David accords.

As to your fish argument, remember that The Grand Banks are empty. If there are no fish then it doesn't help to teach someone to fish.

Ever hear of Aquaculture?

That's the next step up from teaching someone to forage for a living off the land.. Teaching them how to raise and harvest their own fish...
