Republicans blame Schwarzenegger
AP - Thu Nov 10, 7:30 AM ET
LOS ANGELES - The across-the-board collapse of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's ballot propositions came down to this: They were ideas with narrow appeal, further damaged by a flat-footed campaign and an unpopular messenger, the governor himself. And that's just what his fellow Republicans said. California's celebrity governor was elected in 2003 as a centrist Republican — an essential pedigree in a state that votes reliably Democratic. But by the end of his initiative campaign Tuesday, Schwarzenegger had alienated Democrats and independents and allowed his opponents to paint him as an extremist.

I just heard bits and pieces of the news this week but I think the oil companies are trying to blame everything on environmentalists (as opposed to the generally low profits involved in building refineries when oil isn't at $60/bbl) and demanding complete freedom from any environmental regulations or liability. Plus, they want to stop monies going to alternative energy sources like biodiesel.

Can this be true?

Oh heck, since Republicans are trying to shift more wealth onto the super rich by cutting programs like FOOD this week (I think they gave up but who knows about those 2 am sessions) and adding in more tax cuts next week in an effort to have a zero, zippo, nada tax rate for those who can most afford to pay.....I figure it's time for Republicans and their masters to be irrationally brazen.

If their fearful leader, hiding somewhere with Waldo, has gone off his rocker they might as well just pile on and be insane together.
