Auto reliability. usatoday.com This article sounds like the Japanese are losing their lead in reliability. Then, near the end, they note that 29 of the 31 top rated cars are Japanese. It is really odd when the text doesn't match the stats. <G>

I can understand why people buy poor quality American cars, because they consider cars made with foreign parts in America are more patriotic than cars made with American parts in foreign countries.

But why does anyone pay up for poor quality European cars? I agree that some of them have great looks. Jaguar, Aston Martin, Maserati. But plug-ugly sedans and SUVs, like BMWs, Mercedes and Volvos? Heck, if you want ugly, why not buy reliable, less expensive Japanese uglies?

Oh, well, consumers are perverse. Some folks drink buttermilk. <G>
