Yes, I'm also aware that Israel occupies the West Bank and is making a landgrab with that damn wall they are building. On the other hand I am aware that they capture Palestinian suicide bombers on their way to kill Israelis every other day.

If Israel had maintained the occupied territories as military buffer zones without moving Jewish civilians into them, they would have much better world support for their actions. Unfortunately, their actions (and much political rhetoric in Israel) made their intentions quite clear, hence the problem they find themselves in. I dislike funding it.

So what is your point? Do you really think that Muslim enmity of Jews would end if Jews played nice with Muslims? Not likely. Muslim enmity of Jews will end when there are no more Jews alive. And therein lies the intractability of this problem...Muslim cultural and religious attitudes.

Most Muslims have no like or dislike for Jews, they don't like Israeli Zionists. Its completely different. Don't equate a Jew with an Israeli. It's wrong.

I don't know how OLD you were at the time, but the only time I've felt hopeful about peace in the ME was when Rabin was in charge in Israel, and was "making nice" with the Palestinians. No bombings, no terrorism, things were looking up. To me, that was as close as they ever got to peace in my lifetime.

A "Greater Israel" Israeli right wing fanatic assasinated Rabin, and the right wing has been in control in Israel ever since. No real progress has been made until Gaza.

Since then, I have no sympathy for Israel.
