I enjoyed this thread also. I kept track of the deals mentioned and many of them closed and were successful arbitrage plays. It would be nice to jump-start this board again.

To liven things up a bit here, ALSC announced in October, 2005 that the company planed to liquidate. Management estimated the distribution should be $4.00 per share.

Maybe during tax selling season the share price will fall off a bit and present buying opportunities. Share prices have regularly traded in the upper $2s since the announcement was made.

I haven't purchased any shares yet.
