I really hated that Carter didn't invade Iran after they took our embassy, US soil, hostage. I even thought at the time that he'd be justified in writing the hostages off and nuking Tehran - that's how pissed off I was. I would have volunteered for the invasion!

Now that it's long in the past, I can see that Carter was acting on his Christian beliefs. That he did so ended with EVERY hostage getting home alive and unharmed, partly thanks also to an aborted rescue attempt. If he'd done anything like I ( and all of America ) wanted, all the hostages would be dead. He spent his Presidency for their lives.

Amy, Carter is a very, very strong person.

I still fail to see the logic behind offering North Korea a couple of nuclear power plants in 1994. Lots of other ways we could have (maybe even should have) helped North Korea out besides giving into their wily demands.
