I have a friend who lives in France, out in the country. She's not French, but Irish, however she married a Frenchman which is why she lives there. Anyhow, had contact with her yesterday to make sure she was OK. She told me the whole thing is blown out of proportion. That she's seen no evidence of violence (course she lives in the country) but her Husband works in Paris and he also says he's seen no evidence of violence either. I understand the French newspapers do not carry this story and they were surprised when they read in an international publication all the uproar. They didnt even know anything like that was going on and still find it hard to believe. jdn
