Good enough, I may have misunderstood you.

I agree that religion is the creation of mortal man and therefor flawed.

God if he does exist doesn't care if you go to church on Sunday. We don't know what he wants - I suspect he wants nothing from us or he would have made it clearer what he did want.

I also agree with you that religious extremists are the most dangerous - but on both sides of the fence.

Look at Bush - he asked for God's guidance then sent the army into Iraq. Since then ten's of thousands have died horrible deaths with many more to come - all for extremely unclear goals. having an election is one thing - but if you have no job, no electricity and can't go outside for fear of death - life sucks. So the word progress and Iraq do not belong in the same sentence. So whats the point?

So Bush is an example of someone on the extreme right, full of Christian hubris, who has caused great evil in the world.

Great post haqi. I too have no use for religion. The beginnings of all the mainstream religions started with simple messages that were contorted beyond recognition by so called "religious" men that had their own reasons for adding to the message.

I do believe in God but I believe that God is the collective consciousness of man/woman. I don't believe that you need religion and all it's trappings to worship God. I do believe that I do more honest worship in admiring a beautiful sunset or a star filled sky while considering the insignificance of man/woman/myself against that awesome backdrop than any Pope Imam Preacher or any other organized religious type.
