I agree completely.

ALL CRIMES against person or property should be vigorously punished --- and I don't care at all whether someone is 'under the influence' of alcohol, drugs, or anything else.

The law should not care about that at all --- just about the crime.

(I might add that --- if prohibition is repealed, and drugs licensed and taxed for sale to adults --- that police budgets should not be cut at all, but the ex-drug funding should be spent on additional police and law enforcement.)

I agree. If one commits a crime while under the influence the penalties should be more severe.
