ElM, people can't move freely because we are serfs. Until we have tradable citizenships, we are hostages of our state bosses. The bosses control the assets and therefore the people. There are no free people on Earth, though Americans ignorantly think they are free. Freedom is about property including one's person. Americans are just state serfs too.

Capital and goods are also restricted because we don't have tradable citizenships. When property is properly defined, instead of being in a collectivist mess, then people will be better off.

The wealthy countries are those with properly defined and protected private property rights. They could be improved further by creating citizen shareholders in the state assets. Governments which don't perform would be voted out, or people would sell up and leave, buying a better citizenship elsewhere.

I know you think it's a good idea that anyone be able to move in and take over anywhere, but I don't want swarms of people in my living room or country without paying my price. My ancestors and I did a lot of work to produce it all and I'm not giving it away to a bunch of bludgers who want to grab it for no charge. They could get a loan, buy a citizenship, and pay it off by living and working here, that would be fine with me. That way, talented young people could move here even with no money of their own.
