I take your point.

Problem is, at least for the US, it is impossible to separate the destruction of the American economy and the potential collapse of the dollar and subsequent damage from the mismanagement of our government over the last 5 years.

It was not clear that the only engine of collapse under discussion was peak oil.

However, it is also given that the worldwide energy crisis has also been exacerbated by the myopic policies of the US government.

It is folly to consider the world energy plight without giving weight to the market disruptions occasioned by a questionable war in one of the most prolific patches on the globe.
