K...thank you for posting the QDEL info. As a serious shareholder, I appreciate it.
My wife is an RN, and does Home Health and Hospice here is very rural central Nebraska. We keep at home a box of the ten test kits, but for reasons other than Avian Flu. For years, Drs have prescribed antibiotics for people with cold and flu symptoms...when the problems were really caused by a virus, and the antibiotics made the patients sicker yet. The test kit makes confirmation of viral or not, and affirms whether an expensive antibiotic is needed or not.
Being waived, I expect thousands of these kits will be used eventually in airport screens, military etc. as Avian or another serious virus begins to travel around the globe. We hope that is years away, but in any case I believe QDEL has a great deal of opportunity ahead. Best regards.
