"How did the Jews wind up moving virtually everywhere in the world, and being attacked in Europe, USA (evidently), Russia, etc. etc."

Anti-semitism wasn't nearly as bad in the US as in other countries. It still existed, just wasn't as extreme. Which is so many immigrated here even before WWII.

Jews always maintained their culture and their communities when they immigrated. That, and the connection with the death of Christ was enough to cause problems.

Elroy, I hear what you say and frankly I hear that as being a major question indeed.
But, I mean, how would I know?

The fact seems to be that the Jews have been pretty good at attracting flak for at least hundreds of centuries.
How come?

I have no clue but I can only make my own guess, that the Jews always took pride in being different from the societies in which they were embedded, resisted getting integrated and as we know from modern times, that never comes over well.

A major problem today and a major problem with the Jewish "ghettos" back then.
That's where the word "ghetto" comes from.
