"I don't buy the connection." I admit his argument is a little weak. Since listening to him, I've been googling his stuff. I agree with him on an awful lot of stuff, but I just don't buy the need for the US to become an overt empire. This particular article plays on one of my great fears. If international trade were to break down, and our level of technology starts to slip, it is going to go all the way down to 16th or so century level. And stay there because there just aren't many exploitable resources available at that level.
