The Sunday Morning Talk Shows (Lineup)...

By noemail@noemail.org (Mark Kilmer)

For Sunday, November 13, 2005

Meet the Press (NBC): Host Tim Russert talks with His Royal Hashemite Highness, King Abdullah of Jordan. Then he promises to have RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman and DNC Chair Howard Dean, though it appears that they will be interviewed separately. Remember when Ed Gillespie and Terence McAuliffe would appear together on these shows and argue about this and that? What gives with Dean's unwillingness to be confronted directly?

FOX News Sunday: Host Chris Wallace has Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Pat Roberts (R-Kansas) and Vice Chairman Jay Rockefeller (D-West Virginia). What do the 2005 elections mean in the scheme of national politics? Evidently, Governors Mike Huckabee (R-Arkansas) and Bill Richardson (D-New Mexico) are going to tell us. Both are potential Presidential candidates.

Face the Nation (CBS): Host Bob Schieffer talks with two Presidential candidates: Senator John McCain of Arizona and Governor Mark Warner of Virginia. They promise much lively discussion of politics, Iraq, and the Bush Administration's thaang with torture. (The term torture is used on their site, expressing editorially that they agree with Senator McCain that the Bush Administration has been in the torture business.)

This Week (ABC): Host George Stephanopoulos has a guest from whom many of my male friend with their eyes on geopolitics, specifically the Middle East, have been anxious to hear: Jordan's Queen Rania. Married to Russert's guest, and Russert was gypped.

Also, Steph promises all the Senate campaign chairs, Liddy Dole and Chuckie Schumer, and the House campaign chairs: New York's Tom Reynolds and former Clinton staffer Rep. Rahm Emmanuel (D-Chicago).

Late Edition (CNN): Host Wolf Blitzer has National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley and Senators Pat Roberts (R-Kansas), the Senate Intelligence Committee chairman, and Senator Carl Levin (D-Michigan). And his usual cast of thousands.
-----

Abdullah and Rania will be interesting, now that they've been dragged directly into Zarquawi's little game. The best speculation I've heard is that Abduallah will do what his father, Jordan's King Hussein, did to Yasser Arafat's PLO back in the early '70s: blow the bums out of Jordan.

Howard Dean's on MTP, Roberts and Rockefeller would probably address the latest round of BushLied?, and Blitzer will probably go through that with Hadley.
