Meanwhile, Osama won a complete victory on one point of his demands. He got the USA out of Saudi Arabia. Now he's working on Iraq and that looks like a winner too. The USA strategy of pulling out of Saudi Arabia and taking over Iraq and using the Iraqi oil as leverage against Saudi Arabia and being clear to conduct other military operations from Iraq has collapsed. Not that I have seen that reported as the official military strategy, but I believe that was "the plan". The Axis of Evil defined the next stage of operations. Basically, the "fly paper" theory has handed Osama/Islamic Jihad/Iraqi nationalism/Sunni fury, victory over the USA. And he still hasn't been caught. That's quite an achievement really for boys without toys against the world's only super-power and the greatest military system which has ever existed. The average American doesn't have their heart in the battle. They have seen the lies about WMDs [yes, yes, bleat, bleat, "We fooled ourselves with our own 'military intelligence and EVERYONE believed it" - no I didn't, and Condoleezza Rice admits she and Americans have less imagination than Osama's lot, who COULD imagine hijacking aircraft as suicide missile] King George II really hasn't won the hearts and minds of those in the middle east. Dang it's annoying when Team America can't blast the evil-doers and do anything they like. They've seen it done on tv. You'd think with all the gadgets they've got, and gangsta rap culture backing them, they could win over anywhere. Perhaps American culture doesn't appeal to everyone after all. Somehow, gangsta-rap, water-boarding and the other tortures make the sissies squeamish. Mqurice
