Really good op-ed from this mornings NYT -

'We Do Not Torture' and Other Funny Stories
By FRANK RICH
IF it weren't tragic it would be a New Yorker cartoon. The president of the United States, in the final stop of his forlorn Latin America tour last week, told the world, "We do not torture." Even as he spoke, the administration's flagrant embrace of torture was as hard to escape as publicity for Anderson Cooper.

Bush lies and the entire right agrees with him when any fool knows he's lying. Over and over again, you prove to them he was lying without a doubt by providing all kinds of documentation........finally they give up and go away. A year later they are back saying he didn't lie. Who knows what process in their brain allows them to do that.........but it doesn't matter.....its exhausting. I am sick of it.

Now here we are with torture.......AGAIN. We have tried and convicted army personnel for torture but Bush goes out and says we don't torture. And the rest of the right will act as his chorus: America does not torture. The only good thing......no one believes him anymore. The bad thing: its hard to get an asshole to resign when he doesn't believe he's done anything wrong [see mayor of Spokane].
