I went to a normal public school, a strict Catholic boy's school, a liberal prep school and a conservative prep school. The best schools were the most liberal ones because they encourage students to think for themselves and treat you like human beings. The conservative schools tried to drum in dogma, force you to pray and enforce strict old-fashioned rules which didn't make any sense in modern society. The beatings of students at the Catholic school were particular appalling to me. I sensed the brothers were perverts who enjoyed it.
