The whole country feels the same way. The big buzz on the talkshows today was "who can we get to replace Bush?" McCain, Guliani, Warner, Hillary, Kerry, Edwards, etc. all being discussed. Clearly even Republicans are saying "enough is enough". McCain raised a million bucks this week from GOP honchos. That's called placing an early bet. This guy Warner is a real comer. We'll see if he makes it.

"I hear you. Our country has been hijacked by cronyism. It's a rape of the American people. I can't believe I voted for this guy in 2000. Just disgraceful."

Don't beat yourself up over this. I and others worked ourselves into a lather over this, but the media decided to take a different tack. They didn't like Gore, perhaps for valid reasons. They liked Dubya, probably because he wasn't Gore. Those of us who experienced his record as governor and compared it with the hype of his campaign knew that he would be a Cat. 5 president. Given that it was easy enough to view the dissenters as disaffected nobodies, it is easy to understand why you might have viewed Dubya as the superior choice. You shouldn't have to understand the details of the politics of a particular state in evaluating a candidate. The media should do that for you, they didn't. What isn't important is the 'what if' of 5 years ago. What is important is 'where do we go?'.
