There seem to bee lots of "wishful thinking" people... Wouldn't it be nice to be an ostrich and just hide one's head from the evil that man does to man? Sure wish I could do that too.

There are always people with the belief that they will let someone else "do it for them"....

I can appreciate the people who don't want to actually fight, but that actually do something else to help the folks who are willing to give their life and fight the evil for everyone else. People like the Quakers who work to help others, and put themselves in harms way while providing that help. Or people who are entertainers, like Bob Hope was, that provide entertainment (*not foul entertainment,) but entertainment that reminds our Military of the good things back home. Or the volunteers who spend hundreds and sometimes thousands of hours helping in the Veterans Hospital....

I try to support those folks wherever possible. I don't have much use for the people who just carp, and expect their freedom to be earned by someone else.

evil doesn't just decide one day to destroy itself. Good people have to take up arms and defend the innocent and support freedom's march.

John Calhoun, a former VP, said, "It is harder to preserve than obtain liberty."

General MacArthur said it this way, "No man is entitled to the blessings of liberty unless he is vigilant in its preservation."

I had a brief discussion here recently about some Americans being willing to voluntarily give up their rights.

San Francisco did just that last week when they voted to criminalize the constitutional right to own and bear arms.
