Dachau was a concentration camp where political opponents and other "dangerous" elements were imprisoned. It had very little to do with the later developments of extermination camps like Auschwitz, Neuengamme and Bergen Belsen.

The Allies knew nothing about the latter places and what was going on there. Always was their alibi for not undertaking anything to save millions of Jews from being killed.

Dachau was a concentration camp where political opponents and other "dangerous" elements were imprisoned. Just like the Americanos lined up all their Japanese in their own concentration camps after having stripped them for all their property. Neither of those "original" concentration camps featured any gas chambers.

It had very little to do with the later developments of extermination camps like Auschwitz, Neungamme and Bergen Belsen. Those were the camps I was relating to. I should have made that clear, sorry for the confusion.

The Allies knew nothing - or atleast always claimed they knew nothing - about the latter places and what was going on there. Always was their alibi for not undertaking anything to save millions of Jews from being killed.
