I understand that Peter. I too wouldn't want my kids to grow up like that. That's why I was talking about what IMO should be the proper way to talk to kids about drugs, including alcohol. If you treat and talk down to a child by not giving them all the facts, (just say no, why?, because it's wrong, why? because I said so....). It's even more damaging if parents make up some sort of reefer madness story in order to scare their children out of doing drugs. If they find out that you've made up those stories that has a tendency to drive them in exactly the direction you don't want them to go. I've talked to my son (13) about all drugs and I've told him the reasons why he shouldn't do them. I've also talked openly about the drug wars....speaking of son, I've got to give him a ride to school....later.
