Which was total BS. Quiting smoking is easy. It's not being tempted to start again that is the problem. That factor should not be included as it is almost completely social. That is smoking is accepted enough and the dangers remote enough that there is little impediment to starting again.

Smoking is mostly a habit not an addiction. Addictions are easy to get rid of, once rid of they no longer effect the body, and actually acts as a deterrent. Habits on the other hand are very difficult to get rid of.

An example is a hospital who has become addicted to morphine, they usually have no desire for the drug once they have gone through detox. However they may have a problem quitting biting their nails.
